GNAA hacking group has taken credit for a prank that affected 8,600 unique Tumblr users this week. In the prank, users found a post on their Tumblr describing Tumblr as worthless, decadent, and self-congratulatory. Users were then urged to commit suicide and told that deleting the post would result in the deletion of their Tumblr account. It is assumed that GNAA were commenting on the opinion that new media can lead to increased vanity and emphasis on self-importance. Several high profile blogs such as USA Today and C-NET were affected. Ultimately, the worm proved to be no serious threat. As of current time, the hack has been resolved.
