Bungie is the creator of every Halo game up until last year’s Halo 4. Halo: Combat Evolved (1st Halo) is a first-person shooter (FPS) that was released on the original Xbox in 2001. Since then, Bungie has released 5 other Halo titles. This studio will forever be known for creating this massive online multiplayer shooter that hit console gaming by storm with Halo 2.
The big news is not dealing with Halo though! It’s DESTINY… the game that is. A FPS that is set in a post-apocalyptic Earth. The game is unique in many ways. It will have elements of a massively multiplayer online game (MMO) but will not be defined as one. Bungie describes it as more of a “shared-world shooter.” It is also going to be an open world game like Borderlands, Skyrim, Fallout, etc. The other unique feature is that the world will have a living environment, meaning that events can occur that the developers didn’t even know could occur.
Bungie has been working on this project for some time now. This is Bungie’s first release of a game that has nothing to do with Halo in more than 10 years. It will release for Xbox 360, PS3, and PS4.
